You can reply to the ebay message right from your email and it will be through ebay messages, inkfrog uses the same thing.

Yes you're right on eBay items/money ratio which is on average around $100 or $50 if the account is 100/5000. But I'll guess most people's average are less than that so most get to the item limits...

You can use thunderbird, but when replying, make sure it's from the same email it came to, there's an option to reply from other emails so make sure NOT to do that.
