I disagree with much of what you said. The chinese competition has all but been eliminated on US eBay other than those chinese sellers big enough to maintain stock and a presence in the US.

Usually the case with gift cards you get from supermarkets. Not always the case though.

For buying, just make another separate ebay/paypal account with your personal details. Save a lot of hassle.
