Would anyone recommend using your own website to sell goods instead of the evil ebay? When you start your website is it very slow sales wise and impossible to make a living?

How did you get more traffic to your site and ultimately more sales? How much did you pay professionals to create the website roughly? In a perfect world i could use both ebay and my own website.

I am sorry if this type of questions annoys fellow forum members. I am just trying to learn so please dont be offended.

Digital is correct. Provided it is down correctly, you can drive traffic to your website.

Instead of eBay? No, have both eBay and your website going and continue building up your site until you make more from it then eBay.

It takes time to rack up the sales, but it can happen with a lot of work and dedication. A professional website that is clean and easy to use is a good start. Then advertise your products with Adwords, and work on your SEO and you'll start making money.

I must say that the members on this forum are very friendly and helpful. I am a member of a few forums and you just get flamed as soon as you ask anything.

I am going to attempt to make my own website (should be funny) to keep the costs down. I am sure it will suck at first haha. I will do some research on, adwords and SEO. If i ever get to the point of completing a website i will come back here and ask more questions about driving traffic using ebay and payment methods.
