Default my computer being spyed on ? 74.86.22.02 ? snitsig.com ?

alright, maybe you guys can help me, i don´t know what else to do.
i think my other computer has got some spyware or virus or something.

everytime i connect to a website, e.g. google.com, my browsers (both IE and Firefox!) are displaying information for a company called "Snitsig".
It seems to be a webdesign company.
But I cannot connect to any other websites. Either there is an error message coming up "cannot display website" (but NOT the normal IE or Firefox error messages).
And I'm getting the same ⊗⊗⊗⊗ US IP all the time as well, no matter what I do: 74.86.22.02
(I'm from the UK and get usually UK IPs)

my other computer is working fine with exactly the same internet connection !
if i connect to the internet with the faulty computer, the connection seems to work, but its not displaying any websites...

Now what I've done so far, but hasn't helped:
-disconnected modem
-renew IP with ipconfig / LAN settings
-tried to use this computer with someone elses network (still exactly same wrong IP / messages)
-tried latest versions of AVG spyware, AVG virus, Adaware, nothing, (well AVG found some virus, which has been deleted, but it's still not working.)
-deleted all cookies
-error is coming up for both wireless or LAN connection

has anyone got an idea what i can do or what the problem is ?
thanks.

(I'll probably crosspost this in some other spyware forum...)

i just had something similar happen. i went and uninstalled any program that looked likeit may be associated with that site, then i did a system restore to a couple days before the problem happened. the system restore fixed the problem.

As twdell said, do a system restore.

I've had some pretty crappy viruses before that kept executing popups, etc. No adaware sotware would remove it. But, doing a system restore to 3 days before did the trick.

Give it a go!

Yeah I had a virus that basically killed my computer, I couldn't do anything on it. Did a system restore and its worked perfectly ever since.

system restore is unfortunately not working, i started it, then my computer was restarted automatically and a message was coming up "system cannot be restored..." i tried a few different restore points, unfortunately always the same, not sure what's wrong...

get a firewall. that should solve this problem.
dont use free crap like avg. go either buy a good antivirus (nod32) or download it if you dont have money.
i use nod32 smart security, it has antivirus and firewall in one. and nod32 is the best antivirus out there.
then it will ask you to allow any connection that tries to get initiated from your computer or to your computer. that way you can disallow that crap, and also do a nice scan of your system with nod.
ive had nod for over 8 years, and NEVER ever, ever ever ever even seen a virus. and i download and browse and do everything without a second thought.
norton and mcafee suck, tried them both with homemade viruses, both didnt find it while nod did - they need definitions, nod can find viruses without the latest definitions.

ok, just tried to copy nor32 onto my affected computer and now it got even worse, i can't even start my computer now properly
windows keeps on freezing a few minutes after starting...
has anyone got an idea what i can do ?
are there any other options but formatting whole hard drive & reinstalling windows ?

and this ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ip is 74.86.22.202 port 80
seems to be a proxy.
any ideas what i could stop this proxy accessing my computer ?
(well, if i get the computer running in the first place...)
