Default Google Adwords CPC - how to lower?

I've been using google adwords for about a month now with great results. However, as my sales have increased, so has my cost per click. It went from .10 cents to .30 cents now. My costs went from $10 a day to $45 now. Its cutting my profits big time. So I'm here asking if anyone has tips for decreasing CPC. Google says to increase my site's relevance to the ad, but I don't know how. Thanks in advance.

Just add the keywords you're using in Adwords into your pages. Add it into your title, content, images, everywhere you can. Not spamming, but just increase it so Google knows your site is right for it's visitors.

Also, if you have the content network on, disable it for now.

You can also create smaller ad groups with only a few keywords in it, if you have a bunch of keywords in one group it'll lower your relevance.

Thanks for the reply aspkin. Yes I do have content network enabled. The CTR on that is horrible, less then half of a percent. Curious tho, my the content of my site has never changed since my campaign launch. Yet googles cpc rate goes up and down for no apparent reason. It made me lose about $100 in sales one day because my ad stopped running due to not meeting the new min. bid. Thanks for the tip tho.

Yes, for sure disable the content network then, it's killing your CTR.

You may also try Yahoo, MSN, or some of the other cpc networks like chitika. Those clicks are much cheaper, however there is less volume.

With Yahoo you'll receive about hafe the traffic you'll get from Google, MSN about 1/5 that, Chitika I dunno.
