Exclamation Using eBay as a marketing tool...

Hi all,

I am at the stage now where I want to use eBay as a marketing tool to drive traffic to my website. Firstly you must know something, I have very limited knowledge on the type of website I need and what is 'good value for money'.

I have been quoted near to 8000+ for the all singing, all dancing type website with integration for PayPal payments, marketing etc.

Deliverables and Cost

Provision of Core eCommerce Functionality 4,950.00
Checkout Optimisation
Abandoned Orders 195.00
PayPal Express Checkout Integration 0.00
Sage Pay Checkout Integration (Primary Payment Gateway) 0.00
Content Management & Administration
Multi-User Access Levels 0.00
Offline Order Screen 295.00
Refunds by Sage Pay 0.00
Data Imports
Initial CSV Customer Data Import 0.00
Initial CSV Newsletter Subscriber Import 0.00
Initial CSV Product Import 0.00

Basic Tracking 0.00
Marketing & Promotions
Featured Products 0.00
Slither Banners 195.00
Multi-Channel
eBay Integration 995.00
eBay Store Design (VS Integrated) 495.00
Mobile Site (Advanced) 995.00
Site Navigation & User Journey
Filter Combos 0.00
Infinite Scroll 0.00
Promotion Sashes (Product Overlays) 95.00
Recently Viewed Products 95.00
Site Trust & Security
SSL Certificate (2 Years) 95.00
Social Media Marketing
Facebook 'Like This' Checkout Incentive 195.00
Special Offers & Incentives
10% Off First Order 0.00
Free Delivery Over X 0.00
Hidden Departments 0.00
TOTAL 8,600.00

This was the initial quote.

Now, I am looking for an option that can be as effective as what I have been quoted but not as pricey as I'm not stupid and know that they most probably aren't worth anywhere near that amount.

Can anybody push me in the right direction to get a website setup and a company that can really drive traffic and revenue to the site? Potentially the site could be huge and the products that are going on will attract a huge customer base.

All advice is gold to me at the moment so any help is appreciated.

Sounds very reputable.

Not.

Have you ever considered the last creation by aspkin? Six Figure Boss?

Approach aspkin for his comments on this.

Trust me his response will be honest & factual & benefit your pocket.

Expand....they do eCommerce for some of the UK's biggest brands. Can only assume why it's pricey.

A couple of my customers use visual soft.

Feedback has been there social marketing still leaves a bit to be desired but the general sites seem good.

They are expensive though but then the companies i know using them do extremely large turnover so its horses for courses.

Sorry guys you have lost me. Anyway.....

In terms of the Op asking about good value for money I asked one of the cutomers in question what they paid visial soft for there site and it apparently came to just under 14k.

Now to put this into perspective this is a heavily socially active site which turns over around 150-200k gbp of sales each month. The new site has helped to deliver this level of sales so there is obviously some value there but i still shudder at the thought of spending that kind of money on website.

As with most high turnover sites they rely heavily on driving traffic to the site and also needed a multi price point platform for various customer levels which was apparently the reason for moving to this company.

All that being said like GB mentioned i would speak to aspkin, would certainly be interesting to see what he comes up with, the man knows his way around the internet thats for sure.

Thumbs up Re: Using eBay as a marketing tool...

I dont know if you have ever heard of this site before but you will find someone on here to do the job much cheaper.
The way it works is members bid on your job and then its up to you who to accept. You will find a lot of professionals to do it.
