A back links having hyperlinks is better rather than having your domain url. Because anchor text helps to improve your organic rank for user search query.

And don't forget to diversify your backlink profile with different (branded, generic, url match, lsi) anchors.
As well as nofollow links -- they don't give your site much link juice, but if you want your backlink profile to look natural and don't get hit by Penguin -- that's a way to go.
