Did I make a boo-boo?

My PayPal is 100% verified and it no longer has the money hold when people purchase items from me on eBay. I went slow and steady and did well.

But, I think I made a mistake in withdrawing almost $1,300 at one time. I didn't know this was a bad idea at the time.

Now I just made another withdraw of $200 and it has been 48 hours and it is still pending.

Am I at risk here?

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

How old is the account?
How many time did you withdraw funds from it before this time? or was this the first time?

The account is around 5 months old.

I had withdrawn money 4 times from the account prior to this one.

What were the amounts you withdrew before?
Did you leave any funds in the account after your last withdrawal? or did you empty it out completely?

Don't think you are at risk yet, should go slower than $1,300....do a step up withdrawal.

Slokor, they ranged from 50ish - 200ish. I emptied it out completely. (something I've also learned is a no-no since then.)


MM78, yeah I see that now. Wish I would have done that before. I hope you are right about not being at risk yet.

I agree with MM78.
Sounds like you rushed things but nothing that should lead to disastrous results.
I myself prefer not to pull more than $500 at a time. But that's just a personal guideline.

I never empty the coffers of any PayPal.

I call the balances candy money.

I keep enough for two refunds and fees. (But I pay fees by card in any case). Keeps PayPal guessing LOL.

So just checked again and the withdraw is still lingering in the dreaded pending section.


Going on hour 50 now.


Starting to worry, but will remain optimistic.

I just thought of something else. About 2 weeks ago a customer asked for a return. I said sure, and please make it to my P.O. box. He said he would only return to the address (stealth) listed on eBay.

I asked him why and he said "to follow eBay rules".

I told him I was on vacation and wouldn't be there.

He later messaged me that he CALLED eBay and asked them if he could ship to my P.O. Box instead of my address (stealth). They said no, and so I said go ahead and ship to the stealth address and I just thought in my head I'll take the loss and refund him.


I wonder if this is messing with anything.

Nah, it wouldn't mess with your PayPal account.

As for the withdraw, it's high but if you haven't had any issues yet I doubt you would have any at all. Just don't make it a habit.

In most cases it does take 3 days, after 3 days pass and nothing....then worry.

You can change your return shipping address on eBay to your PO Box.

Definetly no problem. Wait ~~75 hrs and it goes ok. I withdrew $250 from 1 week old account and it cleared after 72 hrs

Yeah just cause its pending longer doesn't mean its an issue, I wouldn't worry about it too much, usually if your going to get limited after withdrawing its within a few hours after withdrawing atleast in most cases I've seen

UPDATE:
The withdraw continues to linger in the Pending section. Going on hour 71.

Your guys comments give me a lot of hope, but seriously, what the hell is going on here?


SIDE NOTE:
On another account I did a withdraw YESTERDAY and it is already COMPLETED today.

I just do not understand PayPal at all....
