I imagine things like these automated sweeping programs will happen more and more often over the years.
Just talk to an account and a lot of the time you would be supposed how little tax you legally actually have to pay. You can usually get it to come in at around the 10% mark
The problem with trying to avoid tax is it always catches up with you and then you end up paying A LOT more than you would pay if you just paid the taxes correctly in the first place.
These UK snooping laws are getting more and more out of hand though. What the buggering hell does HMRC need to know what I have bought on Etsy and eBay for exactly. Items sold I understand, but items I have bought? That makes 0 sense.
Now to choose between moving to Texas or Canada... hmmmm
