Default new ip`s and how many accounts??

HI,

Just a few questions:-

1. How many accounts do most of you have here in the UK? read somewhere that some one with an american account had 80 odd, is that possible here in the uk? and with all these ⊗⊗⊗⊗ numbers and adds it must cost them loads right?

2. Now here is is the hard question, i am living so far from an telephone exchange, that I can t get broadband. cant even get dial up, so Ive set a system and I know piggyback off a farm about a killometer away, but I have my own Ip, how can I change this, with out aproaching the farmer everytime as the modem is in house?

Really quite confusing I know

you can have as many as you want, but only have as many as you can handle, of course the cost to set up is there but it pays for itself after first sale.

Be careful, are you sure farmer Giles hasnt got ebay ( or his kids). You cant change someone elses Ip anyway! plus you need to be in control of your own affairs to succeed, in all honesty.

Anyway so no broadband, no mobile reception, I think you need to get coverage somehow, sorry I cant think of a solution.

I know I have tried absolutely everything, bt have been to fit a new line as there is an exchange about 1 mile the other way, but said it was going to be in the thousands.

Mr Giles (like that...) does have kids and might well have ebay account, thats a concern to be sure, but I have my own ip, asside from the farmer, its the way the bridge link kit is configured.

Is there any way to boost mobile recepetion in a house, spent 10 years converting this barn so moving aint an option at mo...

Pardon the obvious question but blocking ip wont work will it?

Yea satalite is an option but its so exspensive, 800 set up and about 60 per month, and its all fair usage policy, so hmmmm.... didnt really want to spend that kind of money.

Can you change those ip`s any how?

I think they are dynamic ip's, I remember seeing that if you wanted a Static IP you had to pay an extra charge a month. but wow didn't know it was that much for a set up charge tho.

Have you thought about a 3g USB modem? That's about $60 a month, a lot cheaper then the satellite option.

^^^3g modem in a bad reception area in the UK would not work. Hard pressed to get the mothers to work in good areas (like in cities)

Carrier pigeon, maybe?

when you were talking about boosting mobile reception in your house. how bad is it? I played around with wifi boosters and ran into people talking about using them to boost cellar reception. Never paid it much attention because mine works fine everywhere. I know you can build one for wifi and pick up networks from like a mile or so away. Not sure how you would attach it to a mobile phone tho.

Im sure there is an internet forum on the subject that might help you, to get that bridge link ip reconfigured.

As for blocking IP, do you mean VPN, I dont recommend it though, not heard any good stories as ebay dont like them, there is even a question about black logic at the mo, with the shared ip anyway, maybe a dedicated line is an option, ebaykilla may be able to update you soon..
