Hello my lovelies. right i promise i only have one more question before i launch my new eBay Stealth business. Ive researched everything and im sure im belt and braces. All i have left to do is get a clean/new IP. Ive looked into the dongle from 3...its canny value and i'll get the one that can be cancelled at 30 days notice so im not tied in. 3 now offer homefi and mifi...which are these sort of carry anywhere portable internet boxes. My question is...do these act just the same as a dongle. I feel they will be more robust...signal wise...as my laptop is old and i dont know how well it'll take to a dongle! Thanks Heather x

Do they provided a sufficient enough data allowance?
I am torn whether to go this route or pay for a VPN subscription. Sounds like I am in a similar position to you.
3 do a data sim that comes with 12GB or 12 months of data (whichever is used up first) for about £27. I got my last one on ebay and it lasts for ages just listing and doing the normal ebay and paypal stuff. I already had an old 3 dongle which saved me buying a new one. I think the benefit of a dongle for stealth is the changing IP address each time you plug it into computer although as already discussed on forum previously the range of Ip addresses can be small.
I also have an EE Mifi for another account but I think the IP on Mifi is static unless you keep turning it off. But that doesn't bother me on that account.
Incidentally, if you get an unlocked Mifi you can use it with any sim so just use whatever network are doing the best deal on sims at the time.
Have a look on ebay there are plenty of choices.

If you take the example of 12GB of data, for 12 months (there are many other variations out there), that would probably last the OP the entire 12 months.
Browsing pages etc, doesn't use up much data. Its usually things like streaming YouTube videos that eat up data most. Just make sure you solely use the dongle for ebay/paypal, that'll be most cost efficient.
The moral of this story is, always visit the coverage checker for the relevant phone company before buying sim, dongle or Mifi. Doesn't guarantee you'll get a good service but if signal strength is good at your location you should be ok. Yes, I know its basic information but easy to overlook when shopping based on price.

What I do is pop to a shop and buy each of the main network SIM cards. Pop £5/10 on each one and then go home, pop them into an iPhone and tether.
You can then easily see which network has
1 - The best speed for where you live
2 - The best IP range
3 - The least issues with disconnections
