Advice needed on selling on eBay USA from UK

Hello everyone

I've subscribed and read through the Stealthbook guide and read a bunch of threads on this forum and feel confident in the stealth account concept and process.

Basically I'm looking to sell on eBay USA, whereas I live in the UK. To speed things up, I'm keen to purchase a high limit USA eBay Stealth account.

Before I did my research my original idea was just to buy a US eBay acc & US PayPal account together. However upon reading up, it seems that wouldn't work, as to withdraw the money I'd need a US bank acc, and that isn't possible from the UK. So it has become clear only a UK PayPal account will do the job, as I can link a real bank account to it for withdrawals.

Reading up on this forum, it seems that eBay are happy for UK eBay accounts and/or PayPal accounts being used for sales on the US eBay site (please correct me if this is incorrect).

So I wanted to find out whether I should either:

a) Buy a US eBay high limit stealth acc only, and then setup to use with a stealth UK PayPal account (either purchased or setup from scratch myself)?

OR

b) Buy a high limit UK stealth eBay & PayPal account, and then use these to sell on eBay USA?

Any advice on the best way to buy and operate a high limit account US eBay Stealth account from the UK would be hugely appreciated!

I don't do what you're describing but I do sell from a couple of Canada accounts as a USA based seller. Mine are all Canada eBay/Paypals which list on both eBay.com and eBay.ca. Canada Paypals are supposed to allow either USA or Canada banks, but I always run into problems when trying to add a USA bank. So I always have to get creative when I need to get money out of those Paypals. The process would be easier if I could simply add a bank account. You could possibly run into similar problems trying to run your USA business from the UK.

Another reason to use a UK vs. USA account would be the 200/$20,000 IRS threshold. You can't receive more than 200 sales in a year on a USA Paypal account without giving a valid USA tax ID. Unless you plan to pay taxes to the IRS you would be limited to less than 200 annual sales on a USA Paypal.

Personally I would just go with the UK account, then make listings on ebay.com. Wait for UK members to chime in though...

Great, thanks a lot for the swift and detailed response.

However both the 2 options I'm considering would be through a UK PayPal, as I'm aware it's pretty much impossible to do a withdrawal from a USA PayPal unless you have a US bank acc (which you can't set up from the UK).

It was more of a query about for the purposes of selling on eBay USA, whether its beneficial to buy a high limit US eBay account and use with a UK stealth PayPal. Or just stick to buying a high limit UK eBay and UK PayPal and using them to sell on eBay USA?

Sorry - misread your post.

I think it may raise some red flags if your USA-registered eBay account receives payments through a UK Paypal account - but I can't say if it would get you in any trouble.

I think what you're describing would be the same as selling from a UK account on ebay.com rather than co.uk. On my CA accounts I get just as many sales listing on ebay.com as I do when selling the same item from a USA account on eBay.com.

So you'd reckon there's potentially more issues to be had by having a USA registered eBay acc running through a UK PayPal, and these issues would outweigh any potential benefits which would come from having a USA eBay account to sell on eBay.com (which sounds negligible)? Which makes sense tbh.

It seems it'll be easier and safer to go down the route of buying a high limit stealth UK eBay & PayPal account, and using that for selling on eBay.com.
