Default Paypal becoming LESS strict on SSN now??

Every month or two I have one of my accounts go down. Today was my lucky day for one of my poor guys. Well, I noticed under the section where they ask for your social security number that they listed the following options for ALTERNATIVES to social:

If you'd prefer, there are alternative ways to provide information:

Provide proof of Social Security number

1. Your documents need to be valid and legible.
2. The submitted information on the documents must correspond with the information on your PayPal account.
3. Documents can't be older than 6 months.
4. We will handle your information in accordance with our privacy policy.

When you choose this option and click "next" it takes you to a page where you can select drivers license, utility bill, etc.

Why all of a sudden are they giving options without making us put up a fight? Did I miss something? It has been awhile since my last limitation.

They already strict enough with that 21 day hold thing, they need to loosen up if they wanna have more sellers.

I've had this happen to me.

What they do is, after you send in the "alternate information," you will get an email after a Paypal agent reviews it. What happens is, they "adjust the limitation lift requirements" and then you end up having to enter the social anyway.

Just one more tactic into making you give up more information, because they will eventually demand it.

You actually wait for someone to review it and email you back? I always make them do it over the phone while I wait. Never a problem.

I do that as well these days, I was fighting them for months for my PayPal account back and all it took was a phone call to them. The operator said ''I will put your case on high priority'' (whatever) I said I would wait while he reviews my account, he then said it would take about 20 minutes, then 30 seconds later hes back and says my accounts reinstated. talk about unpredictable.
