Default What do eBay investigators get to see?

Hi,

Long story short i was selling microsoft software and i got in trouble with the law.
My account is business so it showed the legit address on my seller page, so if anyone wanted to see it it was displayed to the public.
Also when iw as investigated ebay didnt care, they didnt do anything to my account.

I had legit information on my account, so im assuming thats how they saw where i was.

Now i want to do accounts of another sort. nothing to do with microsoft this time.
I want to know if i do get investigated will they be able to request anything from ebay, such as previous addresses etc... or will they only be able to use what they see? e.g. the made-up address i have on
i hve changed my address so its a random one and i haven't had any problems for around 6month+

I am currently in the process of getting a stealth account but its going to be slow start up IF i can get it up and running selling items.

Thnaks

I think you mean C&D stand for "cease and desist"... Did Microsoft send you "cease and desist" document?

Sound like you want to keep your old account? This was 6 months ago? And you haven't received any new notice from Microsoft? I think you're playing with fire honestly (sticking with the same account). At the same time it doesn't seem like you're in their crosshairs any longer..

For copyright infringements, the court grants the plaintiff an extended amount of power to discover the information for the defendant (at least in the US, I'm sure it's similar in the UK). They can virtually request ALL information from eBay if they chose to sue you, and go to an extended length to find out who you really are even outside of eBay.

I can't tell people enough on the forum that copyright infringements (aka sell counterfeits) are not something you want to be messing around with, especially at high volume. Once they catches you, you'll be losing so much more than what you made.

Absolutely, you risk everything with selling counterfeits. It's much better to brand your own products (high selling products) and doing well that way.. don't risk counterfeit items.
