It sounds as though their system believes that someone else may have accessed your account, hence the password change request.
They may be verifying the card and bank attached to ensure they are registered by the rightful owner. If you can provide both documents, this is a minor hurdle.
If you are not already; keep the device and IP address consistent, as frequent changes can cause such issues to arise. If you do already; it could simply be an unfortunate move that caused it, as someone above has said. Sometimes the smallest action can trigger a limitation. This sounds more purchase / account security orientated than selling / KYC regs. If it were the latter, they would be asking for more tricky information like invoices; ID and proof of address etc.
