Paulus is quite correct, a tactic i use with my own accounts, is.. do not attempt to open to many "current" accounts." your bank requires credit searches.. I'm with RBS, open your first "savings account " with them, and they then let you have as many savings accounts as you want.. all with separate account numbers, and all you need to do, is call your bank tell them to open another account, and it's done right away... alternatively, register for internet banking, and you can sit for hours, opening fully workable uk accounts for either ebay or pp

scouse

I can vouch for this method. Direct debit works with the accounts

we may need an updated list on which saver accounts work, as we know they are not always viable due to rejection of dd mandate.

^^^ A current account is not a saving account. With RBS it def allows the direct debit mandate. If you use RBS ,it's a KEY account that works best. This is noted elsewhere

^^^^Yes it works. Last effort was 4 days ago with RBS. IF it had stopped forum would have been advised.
