Yes Singapore is a just a work city, can't really even call it a country. I have friends there who make big salaries and they wouldn't even dream of buying there. Most people with any sense work there for a few years, take their savings and GTFO.

You know Turkey comes under Asia.
Lots of new buildings there with good prices for Real Estate.

Google says you can rent an apartment in Shenzhen for $150-$1200/mo.
Lower end apartment may look like this though:

Malaysia is cheaper now.
HK,now its stock market has been tanking !
NYC is not in Asia,but plenty of unsold real estate.
McMansion is now out of fashion,mileniums shun them.

Bangkok is pretty overpriced these days. The THB is very strong and the Chinese and Russians buy Condos like crazy, increasing prices significantly.
A lot of condos are maintenance poorly and in 10 years nobody wants to live there anymore.
Also there remain other uncertainties like visas etc...
Living here for almost 15 years, the last thing I would do, is buy a condo. Houses are way way cheaper btw, but foreigners can't own land. At least for me, paying my rent and saving money otherwise is the way to go. Gl!

Wow - I didn't know foreigners can't own land in Thailand. Do you know why that is? Is Thailand trying to prevent a hostile takeover through property acquisition?

Foreigners weren't entitled to own any kind of real estate here (condominiums included) until the asian crisis in '97. Condo market opened for foreigners back then and prices skyrocketed ever since.
