Closing down PayPal and signing back up

Hi Guys,

A few months back my personal non stealth ebay account got banned leaving me with a perfectly fine (but basically useless) PayPal account. It seems such a waste to not use the PayPal so I've been thinking of trying to reuse it. My thoughts were:

option 1 - use my old PayPal for a new ebay (I know its risky but I may get lucky)
option 2 - is it possible to delete the PayPal account and then resign up using my real details and hopefully break the link with my old banned ebay account?

Are these both stupid ideas lol?

Sure they are But you can try it out

1. Risky but can work for awhile (some ppl reported long-ish success)
2. You can't delete it or hope to break the link

Can I not close the PayPal account and sign up using the same details, wouldn't that give me a "new PayPal ID number" which ebay wouldn't link?

Just go with option 1

The people on here that talk about not reusing the paypals are the ones who have never done it themselves, whereas I have done it with hundreds

Or they say "It could work, but only for a while", yeah well the same goes for any account

Thanks Sax. So obviously I would need to create a new stealth eBay with the same or very similar name as my PayPal. Then when I come to list an item I just reuse the PayPal email as the method of receiving payments? The actual eBay email will be different of course...

I have also gotten away with having several ebay accounts to the same paypal after being banned.

Just keep your customers happy and you might go under the radar. My last account ended due to a dispute i had with a customer over a very valuable item and they must have reported me and got red flagged then they linked the accounts and it was impossible to open anymore after then. Lesson learnt just don't argue with customers.

James sorted me an account thats working great i just followed his instructions and so far so good. I try to keep the value of what i'm selling fairly low now so if a customer complains i can afford to just straight refund them and they can keep the item and i'll just take a hit. better than a negative feedback or the hassle of returning it. Also you have to start small with a fresh account

It doesn't need to be similar, but why not.

Yes just add the Paypal email in the payment box in the ebay listing
