Using VCCs to make pre-orders on US online stores

Hello everyone,

I am trying to purchase some limited edition action figures which are available for pre-order on US only sites like Walmart. It appears from my experience so far that US issued VCCs can be used successfully to make purchases for in stock items, but run into problems when trying to make pre-orders for items which will be released several months later.

Is anyone able to confirm this, and have a solution? Thank you!
