Is eBay aware that phone numbers get recycled?

Tel companies have started a bizarre trend in the last few years... They are now recycling phone numbers. So what used to be "your" number now belongs to someone else in case you ditched your contract. So the "new" number might not be new after all.


This for sure poses a huge risk to people who deal with eBay and Amazon.



Is eBay aware of this mess or not?

Take phone numbers from this angle.

The companies we use for selling know how phone numbers get recycled.
Sellers have to take care to keep a number active as a protective measures.


PayPal may not be involved as much these times but they know about phones as well.

Makes me think of Big Brother
