Unable to link CIBC account

I tried to link a CIBC bank account to Paypal but I keep getting the following message:

This account needs a little help to link it. Contact us and we can help with that, or you can link a different account.

Tried to add the account manually and also tried through their Yodlee login system.. No luck so far. Anyone dealt with this problem before?

When you try to add a bank account with PayPal, you can either login to your bank account through PayPal (they use Yodlee as a third party system for login) or add it manually.. In my case, I tried to add it both by login to my account and by adding it manually.. No luck so far. Called their customer service twice, wasted more than one hour and each time I'm told it's an internal problem with their system. I need to add another bank LOL or close the account and open a new one which doesn't make sense. It appears a lot of people have issue with the same problem, some manager to solve it with their customer service, others simply gave up which is stupid in a way.

This is messed up - I haven't had to add CIBC to pp in quite some time but few years back. no problem and recently I used CIBC for MP without issue
