Default High return percentage

Hi all,

I have a high return percentage rate ( about 20 % ). My question is it a problem for ebay ?
Will this lead to MC011 or some other actions from ebay against my account

Thank you !

Absolutely it will. Reports on here of suspensions being triggered at much less than that.

Thank you so much for the response !

Do you know if the return rate reset in time ?
For example if I leave the account to sleep for some time ?

I don't think letting the account "to sleep" will truly help - you need to improve the metric within 2 cycles last I recall

In days gone by it was often said that leaving it dormant would re-set any warnings.

I'm not convinced that works anymore, indeed it could be said that if you leave it dormant and then restart it then that will now trigger a suspension, certainly a couple of posters on here have mentioned something to that effect.

IMO the best way to deal with it is to get the account in good standing whilst active, might be easier said than done though if you can't find a way to address the pretty horrific returns issue.

Lets not forget that it's not just ebay calling the shots any more, there is Adyen their payment processor having their say.

If they don't like the way your monies are being managed and issuing/reclaiming refunds they'll pull the plug too.

It will lead to extra fees being taken out your payout. Every month eBay message me sayin I had a high return rate and they will charge me extra fees. My return rate was over 20%. But from my experience mc011 is triggered by selling too fast in a short period and a high number of cancellations/ending listings.

I've had that happen a few times but the message will say "you had a high item not received rate for the period of xx/xxxx - xx/xxxx." I've never had extra fees added for a high return rate though.

Yeah, I want to know too. I think the problem is with the man in the mirror. How can you even stay in business with that return rate?

If you do whatever it takes to have very few returns then your problems will take care of themselves. Plenty of ebay noobs probably report you or leave negative FB.

FWIW, I have "maybe" one return a year out of about 1500 sales. Point being, If I had your returns I would just find another way to do business or get out altogether. This problem is of your own making....sorry...tough love.
Good luck

20% return rate is insane and sounds like bad business

If they are not as described returns you get an additional 10% on your fees if I'm not mistaken. Assuming you are in above your metrics. Could be wrong on the percentage but you are supposed receive an increase in fees.

Highest return rates I've had was around 12% I think. It is defiantly not smart and if you are thinking this continues the way you beat it is by selling cheap items to dilute your metrics.
