Can I add an EIN to an individual ebay account type?

Looking to add an EIN for tax purposes to ebay account that is individual. Is that possible?

You will have to change your account to a business account to enter an EIN. Ebay will still require your full or partial SSN number and other real personal information, so if you are thinking of changing your account to business for tax purposes it should be fine. If you're changing your account just to avoid providing your SSN and personal information you're wasting your time.

So 1. I wanted to add my EIN and keep personal details of another person on the account who is not attached to my LLC/EIN but will Ebay request ID after this kind of account conversion?

2. 2 sellers on here said if I buy their accounts, all I'll need in future is an EIN to upgrade and never need my own SSN or another's ssn. How could that be?
edit: they told me I don't need an S-corp either for that to work.

Yes basically the answer is no. The EIN must match the ssn on file.

What if there is no ssn on file? EIN must match the name or business name?

I'm wondering the same thing. I just setup account and ebay asked for ITIN number or SSN. JUst to sell first item

You must provide your SSN to sell on Ebay US.
