Default Is an aged buying account more credible as a new seller?

Hi all

I have an aged buying account (no selling) a real account with tons of buying over years.

If I register as a seller (with my real details) will the age and the amount of buying give the account credibility or will it be the same as any brand new selling account with 0 feedback?

In other words does years of buying give any credibility or is only aged selling credible?

Thanks

No. As a buyer you are a low risk to ebay. So when you become a seller, you become high risk, and need to prove your credibility by aging your account as a seller. Come on, they do not need your ID when you buy 5k stuff, but if you want to sell stuff for 10 cents - can't do that without ID.

Buying and selling is different.. but an account with some history of buying will have a less chance of getting the 30 min reactivate after listing. They don’t see your account as a spam account. You have some history on their platform.

But you will still get payment holds and chances of suspension depending on your selling habits and items you’re selling just like a normal new seller would with no buying transactions

muzzie and Roy3805 are correct OP - aged buying has no relation to a new seller status

Yep new sellers account is a new sellers account even if it has had a lot of buying history

This is to only advantage to having buying history, a lower chance of getting that message.

Yup it shows eBay that you have history on the platform and you don’t look too suspicious to them. But you can still get the ban hammer with history or not 😂
