Default Royal mail OBA click and drop business account

Hello all, does anyone use Royal mail OBA click and drop business account for their ebay items?

My question is, they ask you how many parcels a week you send, and the more you send, the greater discount they give you.

What's to stop you from saying you are sending hundreds a week, but you are actually only sending less (e.g the minimum of 20)

I had an account with them, said I was sending 20 parcels a week, used it for a bit, but then stopped for about 9 months and they haven't said anything or closed my account or anything.

Has anyone ever tried saying that you are sending more parcels than you actually are in order to get the cheaper per parcel prices?

Thanks

That's not cool... you should just be honest and tell them how much you're sending.

They do review the accounts for turnover and discounts given and discounts reduced if mailing less than declared.

No they will not close account, no such limit for royalmail 48 or 24 service it’s only for track service and they review rates after 3 months in your total number of parcels

How would you declare that you're sending more parcels than you were without actually paying for them?

Surely you're not suggesting that you should pay for bogus parcels on your manifest simply to get a bulk discount.

I doubt they can, I have never ever seen a case mentioned where someone was deliberately paying for bogus parcels to get a bulk discount but I'm happy to be corrected.

But I have seen plenty where sellers have sent parcels they didn't pay for.

Royal Mail are very hot on how many items are sent and do a check once and awhile, the postman on pickup when they scan the barcode for the bulk mail his scanner will beep which tells him to put it aside for further checking when they get back.

Had a friend once who only declared half of what he was shipping with the Royal Mail, narrowly missed going to prison on that one, lost his payment account and had to pay up front for future mailing.

I was reffering to When you first sign up for an oba accoubt with royal mail, they just ask you ""how many parcels a week do you send?" And then They just set up your shipping rates based off that number you told them.

So if you told them you are shipping 200 a week you will pay lower rates than if you told them you only ship 20 parcels a week (the minimum to set up an account)

So I'm wondering if you can just exaggerate or get your estimate wrong in order to get the lower prices per parcel

Not saying anyone should, just wondering what's stopping someone if they wanted to

When I had my initial phone call consultation, I just told them I send then 20 a week. I was sending way more for ages, but then stopped using the account for 8 months and nothing has happened to the account. So wondering if they actually monitor the amount you send

Your opening post seems to suggest your talking about your own account not new ones being opened by others. Not sure why it would be of interest.

In any event, as I said above, your manifest makes it pretty clear what you're shipping and AFAIK from when I signed up I was not offered any up front discounts, it simply happened automatically based upon what I actually paid for - don't send enough, don't get the discount - seems simple enough to me.
