UK eBay & PaypalGeneral discussions about eBay.co.uk Suspensions and Paypal.co.uk limited accounts. This forum is geared towards UK eBay & Paypal sellers.
I started up a new account for buying with my fathers name and his address, new Paypal, new CC for buying etc. Set the buying address as my home. No issues and been happily buying for the last seven months.
So now I'd like to sell. Looking at the criteria, I need to link a bank acct in his name at his address?
Short of asking him outright if I can open a bank acct in his name, is there anything else I can do here?
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
Just use your bank account and name in MP it will not flag anything with eBay, or your bank account details with your dads name on it. Either way it will work for you

Even though the Ebay account name is in 'Fred Smith' (and I'm say 'Joe Smith') Wouldn't the bank account need to be in 'Fred Smith'?
I'm sure I read this morning that they like the bank account name and Ebay account name to match:
"Verifying your banking details
To receive payouts, you’ll need to link your bank account to your eBay account. It’s important to make sure that the names on both accounts match.
For a personal account, your first name and last name should be the same on your bank account and your eBay account"
if this is what Ebay wants, you should keep the names same.
You can add your father to your bank account, you should also let him know what you are doing as it would make a difference when he files his tax return

Not something you can really do in the UK unless I become a joint account holder with him. We don't really do tax returns (not self employed) and he's a pensioner!
I'll look to ask him to open a separate account with his current bank for my uses. I have online access to his banks anyway.
