I use text plus. It works for verification texts. I’ve even talked to support on the phone from it. I paid for a premium number. It’s $4.99 per year. It’s the cheapest I’ve found. Whatever you do make sure you’re on a plan because the service provider will change your number every so often if you’re on a free plan. It won’t change if you use the number frequently but $4.99 is worth it for peace of mind.

Is this just for amazon? If so just be careful as numbers are reused.

Does Text + work for verification texts (login, and number verification)? These come from a six digit number (not a real phone number). I purchased a phone line from text+ and did not receive a verification text when prompted. I contacted their support but havent heard back all week.

I did receive a response from Text plus. They said that confirmation codes cannot be recevied on text plus numbers. So I'm looking for a different option. Curious to what others are using?

A flip phone costs like 20 - 30 bucks, need to pay $10 - 15 / month in top ups to keep it active.
If you go for the cheapest service, the number you receive will likely have been used for something abusive/fraudulent in the past. People who are doing something abusive/fraudulent generally want to pay as little as possible.
Anything you can get for free will most definitely cost you big in the future.
