Now for all new buyer accounts to change them to seller account, is the selfie photo mandatory?

Nope, it's not typical.

I am getting those as well, but largely due to the phone or the name & address you use for the account.

Do the name and address match in a public database?

Just changed one of my buyer accounts and they didn't ask me for a selfie

The account was created 3 days ago I put all the exact information but I only changed the address because that is where the packages will be sent from.

This happens when you create an account and that account has some active red flags....
can be ip
Names
document numbers
browser
and other problems..
This is not something that happens with all accounts.

Ok, so it is hard to really pinpoint exactly what could cause it since it is entirely dependent on eBay's system at the time.

But all I can confirm is the number has been re-used on eBay quite a bit. I know after 3 times of using the same number, you will get hit with that verification 100% of the time.

I even get hit with verizon sims, straight talk and boost mobile.

What I can recommend to test is, create the account on mobile and reuse that number. Take the same name and try using a mismatched address with it.

Also, might not be a big issue or necessary. Tweak your browser settings to where the block tracking or anything of that sort is off.

Anything blocking tracking on eBay's end could possibly hit the account when first starting off.
