Activity: 0% Longevity: 47% | | Paypal with EIN as Business...?
I'm opening a few things online with company info... Ebay is going to require me to add my SS, which is fine, I have personal selling accounts that are 5 star perfect for years.
BUT PayPal and me went different ways 4 or 5 years ago and we parted on bad terms. If I open a PP account as a business, and use all legit bank, card, address, EIN, Duns, etc of that long established legit business that's unrelated to me in the past, will my personal info have to go on there anywhere? Will a personal SS# be required at some point?
I feel like my SS# will get it all shut down if the account is linked to me. If all legit business info is put in there, does it or will it need anything from me personally? I know Ebay does, but will Paypal?
I'm in the USA, by the way, and only selling low risk legit stuff we manufacture.

As far as i know they will need your SSN. I maybe wrong and EIN maybe an alternative if you open straight as bussiness though. Even then though it's possible an SSN will be requested in the future

His question if I understand right,is would he need to give his SSN ,as he was suspended long ago and owe Paypal money.
if Ebay asks for it,I would not be surprise if Paypal does as well, this is an old trick, setting up an EIN,there is a person or persons behind it,so it could ask for SSN of a major player with that EIN or even a corporation

I fought back against a buyer's (scammer's) chargeback thinking I was going to "hold my own" about 10 years ago. I'd pay it 5 times over if I knew what a mess it would make over the years. I didn't realize how Paypal operated, and nobody is looking at facts and making an informed decision about a 5 star seller with 5,000+ all positive transactions and a new buyer from Sri Lank with a US address.
Anyway, the problem is permanent since that debt was sold off to some other company, and over the years I made more accounts that got linked and suspended when I added my SS# after years of thinking I'm good. It's the sin of opening a new account when I'm already suspended that I'm afraid is going to make an issue, as it has always with my personal accounts and attempts.
About 5 years ago I called and talked to a higher up in the USA, told them the situation and that I have a working account that's 3 years old, showed him, and while he was really friendly and sounded knowlegable, once we had a 40 minute conversation how I'd be happy to pay that original amount, or more, plus fees or anything else, he told me that because of accounts since then, there is no way they will work with me. An hour after we got off the phone, my PP was locked and I got a "no more doing business with you" type email.
The business is truly established, 20+ years old with it's own phone, DUNS, bank, vehicle, building, etc.... but if at some point I'd have to add a human SS#, I know they will link it and likely lock it. That's the back story, if anyone knows for sure that a business won't be required to add a SS# if a EIN enough, let me know.

Some corporations like BBY sell on EBAY,it does not have SSN,APMEX,the largest precious metal dealer in the country also sell on EBay.
As for losing a chargeback filed by a guy in Sri Lanka, chargebacks are determined by his credit card issuer,if it sides with the cardholder,Paypal takes the hit and would pass the loss onto you,not much Paypal can do,it has nothing to do with your feedback .
You want Paypal to eat your business loss,of course Paypal does not want you back
why do you need Paypal, you can use other payment methods like getting a merchant account with a bank to accept cards,or APPL PAY,GOOGLE Pay,even Amzn ONE CLICK.
Not sure if Propay is still around

If he has been in business for 20 years with buiLding, bank account ,good feedback, then he is not a newbie, why cant he behave like a seasoned businessman and accept the loss?
This is why Paypal does not want him back,he could do it again !
The Paypal to day is not like the Paypal of yester years where you get $10 for opening an account and $10 for referring a new member,it never remove any account along with the bank linked to it and it knows more about us it is not telling.
As for your $1200 ,if Paypal were a merchant account provider like a bank,it would have reported to the credit bureau and stay on your record, but Paypal is not a merchant account provider, not sure if it can report that $1200.
try your local bank,or Propay
I juat read yiur first post again,if it is Ebay, you would not need Paypal, you would be using MP which is Ayden

I would set up an ebay account with a brand new company (that you do not intend to use) and see how they treat you. Put all of your legit details in and see if they link it to your past and limit you. Not sure how much you want the paypal, if the costs associated are worth it in the U.S. In the UK its takes 5 minutes and £50 to set up a company.
