Default How to avoid USA seizers of a domain?

I have an issue with one of my domains. Someone is trying to sue me and have it handed over to them. Is there a hosting company anyone knows of or a certain domain that does not fall under USA territory?

you would need to use non western hosting and non western site ending , probably something like .cc would work

domain as in your own website on .com ?

They can't just sue you and take it off your hands, doesn't work that way.
even UFC paid the guy who owns the .com to get that domain.

All due respect. Im speaking from a place of real experience. It absolutely can be done , and has been done to me in the past. It only requires a court order on a tort aka civil suit. You hand that court order over to the hosting company and they will comply.

That doesn't sound legal at all frankly.

I've had a company trying the same with me, but I fought back and they lost against me.

Either way.... I can't say I have anything of value to tell you if that's the case with you aside from getting an advice from a lawyer.

The legal strategy of large companies is going after domains online. They are filing long arm lawsuits and demanding domains as apart of their request in the hope of a default judgement. They are getting everything they want in situations where you cant defend it.

Corporations seem to have backed off a little now but at one point they were rabid in trying to take down anything remotely resembling their business when the internet was blossoming and they became aware of likenesses.

Plenty of cases where savvy folk had the wherewithal to register domain names yet the courts made them hand them over either though ignorance of a blossoming new business world or money simply talking.

Reminds me of an early test case in, if I remember rightly, Blackpool UK, where a 100 year old hardware store called "McDonalds" suddenly found a burger joint opening just down the road. Didn't take long for them to get on his back simply over his name and facia and he laughed it off and let it go to court. They sided with the burger chain and he lost everything. Business gone.

Like I said, the courts aren't as accommodating nowadays unless it clear your trying to abuse the system but it still happens.

I have sympathy for those who are maliciously targeted by corporations who think they're entitled, but not for those deliberately looking to abuse trademarked names.
Which are you OP?
