Default Canada GST no charge as per the government

As the Canadian Government has given a GST tax break on many items over the next 2 months, the confusion is on the AZ website.

If we do FBA (which we do) and AZ calculates all costs, do we need to adjust our tax rates.
AZ has emailed saying to adjust each item's tax rate if it applies to the break, but doesn't say where to adjust it, nor if it is only FBM that needs adjustment, or if FBA needs adjustment.

Any ideas, other than AZ saying get it right or you need to refund all customers that are over charged the tax?

Thanks

It's a 2 month tax break for Canadians from Dec 14 to Feb 14th. (Think election trick).

Toys/food/restaurant meals are some things that won't be taxed for 2 months. But other things like sporting goods, are taxed throughout the period.

It's a nightmare for brick and mortar's.

My question is, since we do FBA, will AZ reset the tax tables, or do they expect us to do it. If FBM, yes the onus would be on us. But what about FBA?

Thanks

I would think they'd do it for us. I can't even begin to tell you how I'd do it manually myself.

have you called AZ about it?

Tried Chat, and they gave me 2 links about set up a tax number for selling on AZ. No answers yet in the AZ forums. Will try calling today.

But SS is normally useless.

Will let you know if I get any answers.

Thanks

I wouldn't expect AZ to do too much about it - for 2 months only, those changes might be logistically heavy - hope AZ gives you quick answer

Starts tomorrow. No answers, of course, from AZ.

First thing tomorrow I will put one of our items into our cart and check to see if taxed.
If not, then AZ handled it.
If taxed, I will need to edit each listing and change the tax code. Time consuming, but have figured out how to do it.

Thanks
