 Converting stealth to real details
I'm in the UK. I Had an account permanently closed about 13 years ago, for failing to pay fees (I was aggreived after getting ripped off for some computer parts I sold/sent overseas). Anyhow. A couple of years later I opened a new account, using a different address that I had access to, different phone number, different IP (had since change provider), different bank account (opened in the new address), and with a variation on my name and a made-up DOB. A few years later I was asked to submit ID, and submitted an edited bank statement and edited passport. After it sat there for a day or so (as I recall) I called them, got through to a nice Irish chap, and he approved them. Since then, zero issues, with +/-500 sales over a decade, all expensive items, mainly higher end wristwatches. Anyway, now comes the tax/NI stuff and the need to go legit if possible.
I'm still living at the original address from the banned account, and I'm wondering.. Can I just change the name, DOB and address on my account to my actual real details (which I will be able to submit real verification info for), and submit my real NI number when the time comes (was never asked to submit it for the banned account, so shouldn't be marked), or are they going to link it back to the old account and nuke me? I'm not worried about stealth, or about avoiding the tax man etc. I just want a functional legit ebay account. I've read about people converting their stealth accounts to legit accounts but Ooof.
