From October 9, 2025, banks will match IBANs and names for transfers !!!
NEW LEGAL RULE FROM 9th OCTOBER 2025 !!!
This system automatically checks if the recipient's name matches their IBAN before a payment is executed to prevent fraud and errors. https://www.brusselstimes.com/178566...nd-ibans-match
If the name and IBAN do not match, customers will be alerted before confirming the payment and can either correct the information or proceed at their own risk. https://www.jam-software.com/sepa-tr...nization.shtml
The problem is new; we're not talking about the DAC7..
eBay's Luxembourg bank, which is the one sending the money to yours, receives a notification that the name doesn't match. In fact, I just made a transfer to a friend and got a red banner saying that the name I'm sending to doesn't match the IBAN it's going to. His name is José Manuel Pérez (which is what his name will be at the bank), and the transfer was sent to José M. Pérez...
ARE WE DONE?. ADYEN OR EBAY'S LUXEMBOURG BANK WILL HAVE IT EASY AS THE BANK WILL INFORM THE MISSMATCH TO THE SENDER AUTOMATICALLY
