Default MC-999 on new acc

Received an MC-999 suspension on an account today. Had ~20 sales in the first week. Most sales have been shipped with some delivered, positive feedback received. About 3k on hold.

I called and they asked me a bunch of questions to verify what I’m selling, where I’m getting it from, etc. I *thought* I was about to be reinstated and then the agent comes on the phone and notifies me that the suspension is permanent and I will not get my account back. They would not tell me why. My main account is not suspended….

Am I at least going to receive my money?

If your eBay account is real and verified, they will send the money after 60 days.

Probably, but they may want to hold the funds for 90 days or whatever.

FWIW it sounds like you jumped in a little too quick. Assuming the 3k is from that first week, puts the average item price around $150. Best to start out with much smaller numbers and slowly build up to that kind of volume as you prove to the platform you're a trustworthy seller who can stay on top of things.

Has anyone successfully gotten an account reinstated after this?

So you sold 3k in revenue in your first week? That's your answer!

Well did they say anything in the email about your funds?

What category of sales (specifics of items aren't needed but info can help for discussion)?
Collectibles mainly. Signed books, posters, etc. My main account remains unsuspended.

Sounds like, based on your info provided, you should be able to get your funds after a set period of waiting.

Is it linked to your main account? I'd be worried about that

Unsure but I’m assuming so. I was limited to 10k/100 items on my main account after being below standard because of cancelled orders. Read online that you could have multiple eBay accounts, so I made another. I’m guessing they linked the two and decided I was bypassing the restriction on my main account and banned my secondary.

My main account remains functional with seller limits in place.

Remains functional for now - never can be sure when/if it goes down. Recommendation is to make other backup stealths.

Go light on the main account to avoid hyperfocus
