Harder to buy during holiday season?

So we all know ebay ramps up security for sellers during the holidays. Especially starting Black Friday, sometimes a few weeks prior

However do they also do the same for buyers? Noticing Im having some issues at checkout recently which did not exist prior. Has anyone seen or heard of any such issues existing for buyers as well?

I doubt they do tbh; however it wouldn't be something extraordinary

I know credit card issuers and Paypal do pay attention to those who make rapid payments ,buying gold,electronics.

You need to be more specific.... if the age of your account is new, new CC , amount etc

Examples of buyer "security" flags are too many use of difference gift cards, high activity of returns, international sources of payment, etc
