Default Where to find investor/partner or buyer for my business project?

Hello guys,

I hope you are doing well.

I’ve spent the last six months building an interesting project with huge growth potential, it attracted 500+ users in the first month alone without any advertising and everything was built from scratch.

However, due to financial problems, I now need to either sell it or find a partner who would buy a stake (e.g., half the project) and invest in it.

It is a unique job board platform.

Could you point me in the right direction on where to find such buyers or partners quickly and safely, avoiding scams?

Your project is not yet investable and definitely won't sell. Even if those 500 users are all paying users, you don't even have proof of concept yet. You need to keep building, if you think it can scale, or abandon it. You have less than nothing right now.

I think you're mistaken, since you haven't seen the project to begin with.
But I appreciate your answer.

500 users with no ad spend in month one is not nothing, so I wouldn't go as far as saying he has less than nothing. But it's also not something you can sell for real money yet, those are just different things. Nobody is paying for potential, they pay for proof it makes money or people stick around.

If you want an actual investor you probably need revenue or retention numbers first, that's just how it goes. What might work better right now is finding a partner instead, someone who puts in dev time or does the marketing in exchange for a stake, that's a much easier sell than asking someone to write a check. Indie Hackers is decent for that kind of thing, r2/SideProject too. If you do want to just sell it outright, Flippa and Acquire.com are where that stuff usually happens, Flippa especially has a lot of early stage projects on there.

One thing though, whatever you do don't hand over the domain or codebase before you actually have the money, use escrow for that part. Most of the scam stories in this space come from people skipping that step, not from ⊗⊗⊗⊗ buyers.

You have companies posting jobs there already? What makes your platform unique?

Yes, maybe I expressed myself incorrectly.
I need a partner or an early-stage investor for a nominal fee.
You can look at the project work chimp . net (there are a lot of things and algorithms there).

I hadn't planned on selling it or looking for a partner, but unfortunately, circumstances require it.
I have over 15 years of experience in online business and realize that this will be a highly successful project.

For instance, you could add Google AdSense right now, but I don’t want to clutter the site with ads, it’s already set up to generate profit and earn commissions from employers and workers.

The only jobs posted are by you, getting people to spam the site across the internet. You've almost burned through your budget by paying these people to spam for you so now you're looking for someone else to put up money. At what point is it expected to become profitable?

no spam, we have active clients and offer sales
do no post nonsense

Unfortunately, you are far from understanding online business, and I am certain you haven't created a single successful project.
I have sold business projects I built from scratch for $50k+.

I went to the link you provided, and the only jobs posted are in fact by you.. offering to pay people to spam your website. This fiver knockoff of yours will never become profitable.

You're the one asking other people to put up money. Asking about the business plan is a part of due diligence. It's why I asked in my first reply if anyone is actually offering jobs on your platform - that's the only way you'd be able to become profitable.

It's showing that you've only paid out $201.. how much of an investment are you looking for?

Look, I’m not pressuring anyone, I'm simply confident in the project and its growth potential. Since a great deal of time went into creating it, I am ready to consider offers starting at $10k (which is actually a nominal price).

As I said, this wasn't part of my plans, but unfortunately, I am forced to do it.
But I am absolutely certain that the new owner or partner will be satisfied, whether they choose to grow their capital or simply hold the asset.

I am open to negotiating the price with a serious partner.
Perhaps there is a community where I could quickly find a partner and start growing the project together?

Are there people here or anywhere, really who understand online business and with whom one could grow further, or is this forum dead at the moment?

It's not what it used to be - much less traffic since ebay started managed payments. I have a decent understanding of how online business works though.

There's no shortage of third worlders who will do anything for the smallest amount of money, as you've learned. But without a variety of people posting jobs, bringing in outside capital, your project will only ever be a money pit.

Its not an app, its ready made online business project.
It starts generating a profit.
You can also enable advertising.
If you can - do it, invest the time and knowledge and actually do it instead of just talking and show the results.

It’s always easier to criticize something than to create something similar, I’ll say it again - I’m not forcing anyone. Someone who knows what they’re doing will want to invest and continue developing the project - it’s very simple. Why have these pointless debates?

I never said it was an app. Your response deflected without responding to anything I said.

I understand that you're trying to offload this onto someone else, but what I said is true. Of course you're getting traffic, because you've been paying for it.

Why would anyone want to invest in this when it hasn't made a dime?

Your replies and the time you spend on these pointless messages won't earn you a single cent.
This project will bring in $3k–4k a month, believe me (at the initial stage).

Have you ever sold a project of your own, one you built from scratch for at least $70k? If not, then it’s best not to continue this pointless conversation. You’re definitely not the right partner for me, I can sense that immediately.

This project will never make you a dime, which is why you're trying to offload it onto someone else. As I said, there's no shortage of people from poor countries who are willing to spam your site for $.50-$2. You "need a partner" because you've almost run through your budget and would rather not throw more money at spammers.

It takes less than a minute to post a reply here.. I come here in my down time between running my stores.

Try reddit - you may find a useful idiot there. It's a script kiddie website with a bunch of prebuilt addons that you haven't spent a cent on.

This project was written from scratch, every line of code, so you’d be better off not embarrassing yourself with your comments or acting foolishly.

I'm not embarrassed even a little. I'm just pointing out facts, trying to help people understand your underlying business.

You should go with a different business model. There's a good reason Fiver turned out to be a turd in the long run.

Edit: it's kinda telling the way you resort straight to personal attacks instead of actually providing any details. You know as well as I do why the site will never become profitable. I checked it out again this morning and it's still nothing but you offering to pay for spam.

I doubt anyone would invest into a small project that does not generate any cashflow. serious investment requires information on existing cashflow with proof. spending money on sites that do not make any money is gambling rather than investment

it does not only need to answer questions on cashflow but also how exactly it is generated , who pays and how , details on the business model that explain how it works and how much money in which way it is supposed to generate

what you described here looks like a small website that has zero paying customers. anyone can build a website , the site you provided the link for does not have anything special and can be created for free , I do not see any reason why it should cost more than 0

The site is already generating a small profit just a month after launch.
Create a similar project for free and I’ll buy it from you but for you, it’s just talk and nothing more, I’m certain you’ve never created a serious project. If I’m mistaken, provide some links and we’ll take a look.
