Default NEED HELP Listing cancelled, need to verify my account

Listed a bunch (about 8 different listings) of auto parts last week that didn't sell. Last night I listed a bigger ebay motors "other" item, no problem.

Then I wake up this morning and get this email that went out about an hour after the listing started.

Hello XXXXXXXXXXX
The following listings have been removed because your account is currently restricted. All associated fees have been credited to your account.

XXXXXXXXXX -

We'll send you a separate notice about the action taken on your account.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

eBay Customer Support

Then I had the following message in mt ebay my messages box

Dear XXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for selling on eBay. To maintain a safe and secure online marketplace, eBay may require additional verification for newer sellers from time to time. Your listings have been placed on hold until we can talk with you.

To prevent your account from being closed, please contact eBay within the next 48 hours at the link below. You may be asked to sign in:
http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI...ery=HowXXXXXXX
You can always sign in safely on the eBay home page first before using the Contact Us link above.

We appreciate your cooperation in verifying your account as quickly as possible and welcome you as a valued member of our trading community.

Sincerely,

eBay Trust & Safety team

It looks like I'm actually going to talk to someone if I call the number that was on the next screen. What can they ask me other than the info supplied for the registration?
If they were looking for a utility bill or SS# wouldn't they just ask, rather than have me call?
Need to contact them before tomorrow night

They will ask you just a few questions about your past. Past addresses, cars you have owned....just public information.

If it is a stealth account, just say none of the above.

Call them and it will be ok

Really? That's it...none of the above to all of them? Seems too easy.
Like:
I don't own a car
I've always lived at this address

Will I have to call from the registered number? I only have 10 minutes left on that phone, but could always use a spoof card.

If you call the toll free number, you must use the phone they have on file. *67 does not fool toll free lines. If you are dialing the 402 area code regular line, just block caller ID before you dial, and they can't tell what number you are calling in from.

It's 866 so I guess I'll have to spoof my number.
Do you need to be at your computer when you call them?

You can look up their non-toll-free number and call that with *67.

It helps if you are at your computer. So you can pull up any info YOU need to promote your endeavor.

They usually ask the name address you used to register and what items you listed. Then they ask you some question from public records. If it is totally f ake then just answer "none of the above" Or you could put your register info into google and see what comes up.
You have noting to lose, account will be dead anyway if you don't call back within 48 hours. Besides, it is based on public records that might be wrong so odds are "none of the above" will work for all.
I am guessing that whatever you answer they just say thank you and hang up, then if there is suspicion they will email and ask you to fax in some proof.

I'm hoping that they just want to have a little proof that a real person exists on the other end of the phone. I think you're right.
I made sure that the street address exits...just nothing built there.

So none of the above really works? The first time I took a guess at each answer and passed, the second time I did that it didn't work so I'm gonna have try none of the above since I just got hit with 3 of those in a row.

Default Just got hit with MC010

I need to call too..

I'm confused though.

1. How are they pulling info from public record if your info is Stealth?

2. Also, I will need to call the regular line so I can block my number. When I do a search it shows that the 402 area code line is for paypal and the ebay general support line is area code 408-376-7400. Can I call that number, with my phone blocked and answer the questions?

Thanks

I think they just Google or use one of those public record system checks and see if anyone using the name you registered under has lived in any of those cities. Of course, just because someone with the same name lived there that doesn't mean it was you.

I still had 10 minutes left on the Tracfone that I registered the account under so I was able to call on the same phone I registered with. You must have at some time had to receive a call and enter the 4-digit PIN to be able to sell...why can't you use that number? If you can't use that number why not spend $5 or $10 on a Spoof card and just call with the number you registered? For $10 you get an hour of time. Since my call only took 5 or 6 minutes you could keep the card handy in case you need to do it with future accounts

Thanks

Well, I did a couple of records searches and it didn't find anyone with my stealth name in that city, so if they ask I will just say that I moved there a few months ago from a city that does have a person with that name. That should work, right?

As for the call back for the 4 digit pin, I had used a call forwarder. I have never used a spoof card. I saw online where I could buy it though. Anyone have any experience with them? Do they work well?

Thanks for the feedback.

In my case as I mentioned, they asked which of the 4 cities I had previously lived in and then named 4 cities. Rather than to guess and name the wrong one I just said that I had lived in the same city my whole life...how are they to say that I haven't? But if I had given them choice A and that had never showed up on their search, but choice B had, that may have sunk me...make sense?
The second question what "what is the area code of your phone number?...Duh? I'm sure a question like that is geared toward someone trying to hijack someone else's account.

As for the Spoof Card, they work great. Have used in the past to drive an ex crazy after she threw me under the bus and took her ex who had cheated on her back after stabbing me in the back. Lots of hangup calls to their house showing his mistress' home and work phones and vice versa. Know it worked because word got back through mutual friends.
I have used them to call my own phone and they do work, the only thing that I can not verify is that if for some reason they would not work calling a toll-free number.
I just might try that the next time I am at my office on our toll free number.

Ok...got my MC010 lifted.

Worried for nothing.

I used a spoof card cause I didn't have access to the number that was used on my bought stealth account.

She asks me:

1. Which of these cities have you lived in? Gave me 4 choices. I said "None of those"

2. Which of these counties have you lived in? Gave me 4 choices. I said "None of those"

She said "Ok..you are verified and I will lift the limitation from your account."

WTF? LMAO!

I think they just want to know there is a real person on the other end and alot of non-knowledgeable stealther would just cower and hide, therefore losing the account.
The exchange of this type of knowledge is what makes this site so great!
