What's the longest you've had a chargeback pending for?
I provided the information to represent the chargeback including signed proof of delivery in January this year the same day it was requested with notification of chargeback. It's been 10 months and the chargeback is still marked as pending with no communication. 10 months???
Please stop confusing the PayPal dispute with a credit card chargeback. Very different. And it was with a merchant account. Seems like there's no law in place to prevent how long a chargeback can be in pending for, 10 months though is just ridiculous. I just wonder if anybody thinks it might be a good sign that the credit card company is really considering what I've given them, or it's safe to assume it's already lost.
Not cranky. It just seems a lot of people confuse a chargeback with PayPal dispute, and I posted a thread on this. A chargeback is a credit card chargeback and nothing else. Okay my rant is over, sorry if that was "Cranky Ass".
Madsam.... come on buddy.... chargeback is a chargeback is a chargeback.
If you sell insurance and a policy holder cancels and you get a chargeback on commission, this doesn't mean your credit card processor took your money on a transaction....
generally accepted account practices define a chargeback as an allocation of costs and resource usage based on actual usage or a predetermined amount.
No offense.... but you also quote Reagan for economic GROWTH in the USA? pishaw......
And to answer your question, that's nuts. Have you tried to call the bank?
Well, let's not get into politics FE this isn't that kind of forum.
Yes I have contacted them many times, and with no answers. From the responses I guess nobody has ever heard of this going on for 10 months, do you think it's safe to assume it's lost or perhaps is something strange going on. This was a true scammer who had hit many people and the cops were involved at one point, maybe the credit card company is actually really putting some consideration into a chargeback for once. Any thoughts?
Most likely yes. But if its a sizable amount it wont hurt to push. What sounds like happened is merchant account sent credit card company info you supplied and they ignored it. So it sits in limbo
Longest merchant credit card chargeback I had sitting in limbo was about 7 weeks. But as the time went on I was pretty sure it just meant I was screwed. And I was. Beating a card chargeback is extremely difficult, even with signed tracking
Agreement with who? I have no agreement with the other person's credit card company and the merchant can't control how long they decide to take on this.
