Post do ebay and paypal frown upon dropshipping???

im wondering if eb and pp accept people who dropship?
it seems like dropshipping is a good option when selling online, but if you have not got the goods in your possesion i think it would be looked at as suspicious,
i think their will be some people who have successfull businesses through dropshipping so why would it be an issue?
maybe selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or dropshipping from unreliable companys would raise eyebrows with eb & pp,
does anyone have any good or bad stories about dropshipping on ebay?

Yes , your suspicions are correct . They do frown upon dropshiping especially Paypal if your account becomes limited . Best you just get the items shipped then sell them on

Well, it's not illegal. It does state in terms and conditions however, that you must you have the items you list in your possession and available for dispatch, which dropshipping does not.

Does make you wonder why they would allow BUY.com on their site, as they sell nothing but dropshipped items.
But that is ebay for you, one rule for one and another rule for the rest of us.

And I have also heard a lot of sellers that sold dropshipped items were almost hounded off ebay, but they had to order a selection of the items to be stored in case ebay or paypal decided to cause them trouble.

But if you have to have the items in your possession then what about products that are made to order?

Technically, you still have the materials in possession.

You could have one or two (or however many you listed at a time) of each line in your possession but then everytime an item sold had it drop shipped!

Actually, I also thought they did not allow dropshipping. But that is not true. It IS OK per the user agreement.

But that does not mean that they like it.

I think their BIG issue with dropshipping is that when PayPal instituted the 21 day holds, some people decided they would not ship the merchandise until they could withdraw the money. And PayPal does NOT allow that. Understandably so.

I think that eBay also frowns upon it becasue there are many unreliable sources out there. A lot of people claim to be drop-shippers, but they are ALSO using drop-shipping. So, the order may have to go through 3 or 4 people before it gets to the source. And that is a NIGHTMARE.

Personally, I stock everything I sell. And I thought that was the rule. But someone on the forum corrected me. When I looked in the user agreement, they were right., It is NOT specifically prohibited.

My advice is, if you want to dropship, make sure that you have a reliable source who is THE source and not middleman #3. And when you get the order, you CANNOT wait for the money to hit your bank before you place your order. That is what leads to complaints and gets people shut down.

theres loads of people do it on the u.k site, things like vac's, fridges, freezers, t.v's, i used to do it myself and use the paypal funds to pay for the items to be delivered direct from the manufactures/wholesalers

You are not right here.
This is what is said in Paypal's Acceptable Use Policy.
https://cms.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/?c...locale.x=en_GB

"You are independently responsible for complying with all applicable laws in all of your actions related to your use of PayPal’s services, regardless of the purpose of the use. In addition, you must adhere to the terms of this Acceptable Use Policy.

Prohibited Activities
You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:
(d) are for the sale of certain items before the seller has control or possession of the item,
"

Isn't this dropshipping?
