Default Ebay ending 100 free listings Jan 07 2011

For those of us that have been enjoying the 100 free listings per month, I found out that is ending on January 07 2011.
Although the savings werent HUGE by no means, I still enjoyed putting the money in my pocket instead of ebay's. Savings have been over $100 so still was a nice treat. Will continue to enjoy until January!

If you know of any other updates about this, please post. Thanks!

It is/was a program that ebay sent to random buyers/sellers. Not sure how they determined or decided who was chosen, but was a nice treat. It has been almost a year I THINK for me........it was nice because each month I would receive "special listing offers/discounts" and I NEVER became a power seller on that account (would stop selling so that I would make sure NOT to make it, in MY opinion, I NEVER want to be a power seller on a stealth account)......and the current promo (not sure who this all applies to) is I can add a BIN to ANY of the 100 listings for ANY BIN price still with NO insertion fee....so I can list and item with a start bid of .99 and a BIN of $49.99 and pay NO insertion/listing fee....pretty nice.

I wonder if this means the $2 insertion fee is back. I wouldn't care, but if the products don't sell, that gets expensive quickly.

Jeffy not like!

Looks like the $2.00 insertion fee for items $200 or more is still there............the "adding up" is what makes me pay my fees weekly......I about had a heart attack when I used to just pay them monthly, made me want to throw up!..........I know that doesnt change the amount I have to pay, but makes it a little easier on the subconsious mind!

It's only if you list in the US - that's why I list a ton more in the US :D

I'm sure they'll incentive it in other ways.

Jan 8, 2011 - I just tried a free listing and was charged. Sorry so long but here is a transcript of the dialogue. Ebay still has the 100* free listings language on the fee page, but it is charging anyway. So I guess, they'll have to remove the language or start crediting people incorrect insertion fees.

Hello, thank you for waiting and welcome to eBay Live Help! My name is Alexander Ca,. How may I assist you today?
10:33:33 wailtd
I'm being charged an insertion fee for a .01 single item auction. I have one picture and I've not listed anything for Jan11
10:33:56 Alexander Ca.
Sure. Lets go ahead and help you with that.
10:34:26 Alexander Ca.
I would just like to see if I got your concern right, you want to know why you are charged a fee for adding a picture, is that correct?
10:35:28 wailtd
no. Your insertion fee policy says 100* free listings. I have a listing w/ nothing extra checked, one picture, a starting price of .01 cents and I'm being charged an insertion fee. Have you stopped free listings?
10:38:36 Alexander Ca.
I see.
10:38:46 Alexander Ca.
Let me check.
10:46:16 Alexander Ca.
what is your item number?
10:46:59 wailtd
I haven't listed it yet. I'm concerned about the insertion fee. I didn't want to list until I found out if you've stopped the 100 free listings per month.
10:48:01 Alexander Ca.
Let me check.
10:49:41 Alexander Ca.
Aside from this issue, do you have any other concerns that I can help you with today?
10:50:29 wailtd
No. I just need to know if you've stopped your 100 free listings. And if you have, why am I seeing the 100 free listings language on your fee page?
10:54:11 Alexander Ca.
No. We have not stopped it.
10:55:03 wailtd
Okay, then when I start a listing from scratch. Before I enter anything it is charging me an insertion fee. What gives?
10:55:31 Alexander Ca.
Is there any Reserve price on your listing?
10:55:55 Alexander Ca.
Is your Starting or reserve price $0.01 - $0.99?
10:56:08 wailtd
no reserve, no title page, a basic 1 item auction style listing starting at .01 cents. I'
10:56:51 Alexander Ca.
Yes.
10:57:00 Alexander Ca.
But you are adding a picture.
10:57:13 Alexander Ca.
So what we are freeing here is the Insertion Fee.
10:57:21 Alexander Ca.
Not the Picture Fee.
10:57:55 wailtd
Yes a single picture. Which shows "Free first picture". Even when I start a new listing picking a category which should be free and having no picture I have an insertion fee.
11:00:31 Alexander Ca.
If you are referring to this promotion.
11:00:40 Alexander Ca.
Its only up to http://pages.ebay.com/promo/ListFreeHoliday2010/
11:00:56 Alexander Ca.
January 7, 2011 only.
11:01:01 wailtd
No. this is the language found on the fee policy page.
11:01:31 Alexander Ca.
Okey.
11:02:06 Alexander Ca.
You mean this page http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html

This shouldn't affect too many people. Except those doing it for purely feedback. (of course if you are REALLY making money on eBay, it won't matter)
