Default Having a ebay business

Ok, well i am 16 and would like to setup an ebay buisness legitimately. I have done this before but made the mistake of dropshipping which ultimately led to the demise of that account. However i have had a fair bit of experience with ebay and know of a few products which i know will sell well and are in a niche.

Ok so my question is, is there anything i should do partically to not get closed down by ebay? I must emphasise i will not be selling vero and it will all be legit aside from my age :/. So yer any advice on not getting 'caught'?

This is my plan to start off please comment on how well it would work in your opinion :-),

1) Open up a santander under 18 current account (with online banking) just for the business.

2) Transfer around £50-100 to this bank account

3) Set-up new paypal and ebay account and validate them with new bank account.

4)build up feedback to about 20 to allow me to sell multiple products in one auction by buying e-books.

5)Purchase the items i need such as my stock (which is very cheap to start off with only about £10 for 10 pieces but should make back £15 net) and buy jiffybags and document bags.

6) list items and then once sold order more stock (say 20 pieces as made £15 profit)

7) repeat until paypal account reaches £100 then withdraw £50 to bank.

8) repeat until rich haha (also might register as sole trader if all goes well)

So how does this all sound? Low risk at only £50 investment and all i have got to loose is that. Only want to make a few bob instead of part time job (so say £100-200 a month would be my aim).

Cheers guys

What an enterprising young man you are - welcome to the forums - I'm sure someone will be along shortly who knows a lot more than me but from what I've read you seem to be in the right direction

Haha thanks :-) hope it will be ok, just don't want to get closed down as would love to make this a success :D As i said in the post before i done drop shipping a bit and it went quite well and only got 1 negative feedback out of 120 but it was my rating on 'dispatch time' which let me down. I made about £130 a month from that so i know i can make that if i ship from England myself as i can make sure i ship same day 1st class so no issues

Welcome to the forums. Business model looks ok in theory - just pace yourself. Worry more about working stealth rather than doing it all in your real info. All the best.

Well im 15 and im running 3 Ebay accounts with all 20 + positive feedback

I can confirm that the santander Under 18's saving account with online banking works perfectly, also the current account does.

Goodluck.

I love this guys entrepreneurial spirit reminds me such of my self a while back, remember mate you should follow the "stealth guide". Although you are young my friend so I would do a bit of research before opening up the account in question, and all will be fine remember all new eBay UK sellers accounts have a 10 item limit per month. So if your selling £1 items 10 items = £10 I don't know about a business account selling limits I'd imagine it would be in the same region.

Meh, just keep it up, you will learn most of it as you get older. Look through the forums and stuff!

Good luck

Thanks for all the replys :-) I wasn't going to run it 'stealth' just my real address, name etc but change my DOB to 18. Would this matter that much? I dont want this account to get closed down and as i have said apart from my age i plan on doing everything legit so no reason to get closed down. Advice? Thanks :-)

Ok not really suspended, Got my paypal account locked on one but then ran another paypal account under same address and details fine but didn't verify so left it as run into the limit before verifying.

So thought it would be ok to use same address etc as i plan on doing it legit and dont want to be doing it dodgy with false names etc. I haven't had an actual ebay account banned for selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or anything only paypal limited. Advice? Thanks again :-)

Oh yer, one more idea i currently have a ebay business acount with my real details with 120 positive feedback so looks good, but on delivery rating is only 4 stars. Anyway should i make a shiny new paypal account with real details and link it to this ebay account or start a new one and try and stay at 5 star ratings? Thanks

^ Learn stealth before you plan to invest all your time into these accounts.

Buy the book and search the forums.

I have no doubt you will take to it all like a grannytranny to vodka!

Be careful with the ebook buying for feedback. The stealth guide advises against this as ebay have cottoned on to what people are doing. You could end up limited for feedback manipulation.

How would you advise getting feedback? Basically i want this one account to be long term not making new account every few month or running multiple accounts. I just would like one honest account to bring in some 'pocket money' achievable? Or is stealth the only way? Thanks :D
