have had my sales limit lifted slightly which is a help sales wise but im getting fed up now with the funds on hold for the transaction through eb and pp

have had to beg the buyers to leave the feedback that i have now just to get hold of funds sooner

taking the mik now... im having to struggle raising money(which i dont have) to despatch items as the money is on hold... i looked at the account earlier today and there is £295 on hold with £5 available balance! how am i supposed to ship the items with no money for heaven sake... im thinking of going to the post office and running the situation by them perhaps they will give me free post... yeah right

If you pay for the postage through PayPal, it'll use the pending balance.

So you won't have to use your own cash to post.

If you know your funds are going to be on hold then you should only sell the amount you can post. Don't over sell......Before listing put funds aside for postage.

The hold is normally for about 4 - 6 months but if your customers complain about late postage then the hold is likely to continue............

You can do 1st class, recorded, special delivery.

No option for 2nd class however.

You only need a set of kitchen scales to weigh your items, it's not hard.

The issue with the paypal postage is that they are expensive and not the most reliable imho...

There are online courier companies who can offer the same services for half the price of some of the paypal options, especially with smaller items.

90p for a l100g arge letter or £2.70 for a 750g packet takes some beating

but there are options out there if you sell the heavier items

but royal mail/PP do it for me mostly

The issue is that sometimes PayPal won't even release the postage amount from money held. So if you don't already have some free funds to cover the cost, you're going to have to pay out of your own literal pocket.

exactly this...

i recently sold some items to a european buyer and they held the lot

shipping 4kg to eu costs a lot... i have to find that out of my food/petrol/leisure money

i looked into my status as there is a link but it says my account needs to be 90+ days to raise the restrictions

not long to go then

but yeah it can be a bit of a nightmare fair play

Back when I had a legit account, I called PP and said I needed to ship the items and wanted to ship through PP. But my funds were being held, so could they release enough for shipping. The guy was very nice about it, asked how much and released them. This may work for a stealth as well?

Of course if you're not wanting to initiate any contact with PP, you could just ship from your own pocket. Which is what I've been doing, since I don't care to talk to them But if you're strapped, it's an option.
