Default Paypal link though Stamps.com?

Lost my paypal account over 6 months ago. I have been using a new stealth eBay and PayPal account. Now that I have been able to get my eBay selling limits increased high enough, I need a better way to ship.

I used stamps.com for my previous eBay account.

I called stamps.com and they weren't much help with my questions.

Will PayPal link me if I use Batch shipping and download my sales from eBay to stamps.com?

I do not want to manually copy/paste addresses and copy/paste tracking information.

The old eBay account that I used Batch shipping with stamps.com. I had to allow a connection between the two.

So, if I was to use the same stamps.com account with the stealth eBay account, is there a way the two eBay accounts would get linked, hence PayPal linking the new eBay account with the old?

I know PayPal can't link through Stamps.com, but if the two eBay accounts get linked, I'm screwed.

Aha, now I see what you mean. You have to create your ebay stores in stamps.com batch mode. During this stamps.com will want to get token access to your eBay Stealth account. Shouldnt be a problem since the sales are pulled from the stamps.com server not from your pc.

I think I'll just create a new stamps.com account. I don't want to risk losing my account over something to simple. As long as I use a different address with Stamps.com I should get their new account perks, free postage etc. I"ll just cancel my current one. Then I don't have to worry about it.

Stealth stamps.com!

don't you have to provide Drivers License or somthing for Stamps.com, for USPS regulations?

I have been thinking of starting an account with Stamps.com.

USPS locked my account for 5 days as it looked like I was doing business out of my personal account. That was a pain! they finally opened it up and apologized but I just haven't had time to start the business account.

I use stamps.com, and No, I didn't have to provide a DL for any type of regulations. However, when you sign up, use the correct address- then when its time to ship under the return address, use a different return address.

Even easier, would be to use the po box as address, as that is what I have done.

What do you mean the USPS locked your account? You can register a business name under your personal account

You do not need to provide a drivers license and I don't see how USPS would lock an account, unless you are shipping illegal stuff. I could see it an issue if you are using a return address that isn't your name. Very suspicious if you are shipping using a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name.

Making another stamps.com account is simple. Any user can have several accounts, it isn't like eBay or PayPal. You can not register with a PO Box though, you need a physical address. You can use your Post Offices physical address and your box number as the second line. USPS started allowing that for FedEx shipments. You should be able to use the same address for another stamps.com account, you just don't get the promotional postage and scale.

Return address doesn't matter. You can change that to whatever you want. The return address does not get sent back to eBay, only the tracking number does.

It sounds like a stealth guide problem. But if you have eBay or Paypal shipping why are you using stamps.com to ship? Why not eBay or PayPal shipping?

For any kind of decent volume eb/pp shipping becomes very inefficient. The $15/mo fee more than pays for itself in that case.

How does stamps.com bill you? Do they invoice you at the end of the month, or do they charge your credit card every time you make a shipment? Or do you prepay?

I had this issue with Stamps.com and some of my Amazon accounts.
The accounts kept linking a little while after I did the shipping.
I dropped my Stamps.com account and never looked back.

Now I use a combination of Shipworks and Endicia.
Shipworks for the sales downloading part.
Add in Endicia for the postage part.
And you get a very powerful Shipworks program.
It is FREE for eBay users.
The FREE version has no SCAN Form.
And the FREE version does limit you to the number of items you can batch together.
Limit is 5.
So you have to do a batch of 5. Then another batch of 5.........

If you use the paid version of Shipworks there is NO limit on the batch and you get the USPS SCAN form.
With 100+ shipments a day I had to go to the paid version.

Looked at shipworks. It looked great until I realized it had to have the database local to the client app. So it seemed the client has to log into all your stealths and download the info into the database. Sounds like a recipe for getting linked so what am I missing?

I run a VMWare type stealth system.
Each stealth eBay account has its own VMWare "computer"
What I did was install separate copies of Shipworks for EACH stealth eBay account.
So each install of Shipworks is completely separate and independent of any other install of Shipworks.
This way I get NO cross contamination of the accounts.
Each has its own personal database.

OK, thanks for explanation. Thought there had to be more to it than meets the eye. But yeah, otherwise I loved the features of Shipworks and the look&feel. Nice system except for the one caveat.

PayPal does take too long. As I stated previously, as my volume is growing, I need something that saves times. When you start looking at 50 buyers a day, a minute per package adds up. It also saves me money, since I get cash back for using a credit card for postage. When you are spending around 30k a year on postage, that cash back really adds up.

I did just make a new stamps.com account. I only run one account, so don't worry about getting multiple accounts linked. Problem solved.

I would also like to add that PayPal has limited abilities. You can not ship just a "Flat or Envelope". I ship my international items as a flat. I will also ship some stuff (replacements, etc) as a flat or in a regular envelope.

The other reason that the USPS or rather Stamps.com itself would lock your account would be if you were trying to cheat the system by under weighing the item(s) and therefore paying less for the shipping than you are supposed to. THat is in their fine print.

But yeah, its not very hard. IF you are using a po box to sign up.. just write the address of the post office with the box # after.

Example: 123 main st #456 city, state, zip
