The thing is not everyone in the US has a passport, it's not entirely common. I don't think it would be a requirement here.

As far as I understood the new requirements for the EU marketplaces are because of some new EU regulations and have nothing to do with the US. So I hope this won't happen on Amazon.com...

Dont be blinkered by what is happening with the other amazon sites.

Amazon com already has the difference of tax ID needs.

For the moment, that will be enough for them.

Think about it. Civil liberties in the USA will object.
