Default bank verifiation

I've been waiting a week for the verification code. It's Lloyds and the name is misspelt ( change letter u to e ) Been with Lloyds for donkey's years but I see Lloyds is a dodgy choice. Will PP inform me if Lloyds return the payment and can I repair the damage by submitting another bank account?

I beg to differ on the 'Lloyds is a dodgy choice' - lots on info on the forum shows users to have had problems. Done correctly there should be no issues.

You can add another bank account at any time..Halifax or others mentioned on the forum is a good choice

So do you think a week's wait for the code to be normal?

No it is not normal at all. What type of account is it? Savings / Current? Should be maximum 3 days. I have always had instant PayPal codes to Lloyds accounts

No its definitely not normal.

Lloyds is one to be avoided.

Plenty of other options out there...Halifax, Natwest, Santander, Coop...

Heck, I'm having no luck at all. Looks as though I've lost another bank account. How would you handle it? Cancel the Lloyds and add a Halifax? Or start the process all over again with a new stealth?

Just add in a Halifax/HSBC/any bank other than Lloyds pretty much.

Always worth searching the forum before going with any one bank to make sure that they bank is ok with mismatching names

Yes Halifax was instantaneous.
If I want to open an account with a bank I've not used before, do I need to go in person to verify ID? I ask because Barclays wouldn't accept me via internet

Differs from bank to bank.

Some can be opened online others you will need to go into branch to open. Should make little difference either way.
