Well if it comes to confirming your location then an avs card is necessary, otherwise - no.

Not a massive difference. A bank account would make it a lot stronger though (this applies even a year after OPs question!)

James, can you confirm or refute that an AVS VCC would be preferable to a non AVS ?

It depends on the card really

Entropay for example 95% of the time is fine but does have the odd issue now and then

If you can use an AVS card then you may as well use one
