I've always felt that even if you think it is hopeless, you should call in. If the account will die if you don't call, then you have nothing to lose by trying to save it. Sure, it may not work 90% of the time. But if you are able to save the account, it could come back even stronger. One of my BEST stealth accounts once faced "certain death". I called in, gave an Academy Award winning performance by telling them most of my stuff was recently destroyed in a fire (I had to move the account from a VPS provider that went out of business, so PayPal saw a new PC and a new IP) and their rep told me they would reinstate the account for 30 days to give me time to get my documents together. Then, they never asked for them again.
My point is, you never know what may happen. Maybe you get a rep who is super happy for some reason and is willing to help you. Or maybe you get Atilla the Hun. But not TRYING to save an account is a waste.
