Fun Read: Subject of scammers/shot takers.
I recently had a customer that pulled something I had never seen before. Now, mind you, I have seen my fair share of lets say less intelligent buyers and just plain assholes in the mix of things. This particular individual took a shot at one of my accounts. The item was a cloned vape tank. (Yes, I know eBay tobacco policy and no clones allowed.) I always clearly head the listing as the item being a clone comparable to such and such brand and sell for a majorly reduced price obviously. I also check each item for craftsmanship. The buyer buys 1 of these tanks and I get it out in less that 24 hours. The shipping was economy and everything was clearly laid out. Several days go by because the item had to go through several zone. I get a message that the item is 1 day late and I should refund the money and give the item for free. I simply replied with a nice message variations on ebays estimated shipping can happen and the tracking shows they should get the item within 1 or 2 business days because it was close. A day passes and the buyer opens an item not as described. Of course they claim the item didnt work and that it was a clone even after having a conversation about it being in the description. So, with it being such a cheaper item and not wanting to worry about damaging my account, I refund the buyer. Now, fast forward several days later. I had a buy it now and I get a low ball offer but still enough to move two units to keep cash flow good. I accept blindly on the offer. That's when I notice it is the same individual that I had a bad transaction with. With ebay's cancellation policy I went ahead and shipped it and avoided the defect. What happens next? You guessed it buyer files a case right away on the item demanding their money back and that the item doesnt work and that it is a clone even after knowingly buying the same item before and pulling the same stunt. One hilarious point of their rant was that the item was "glue gunned". This is a vape tank. It is nothing but metal, pyrex glass, and silicone seals. There is nothing in the box or anywhere on the item to cause this assumption. I message the buyer and confront them about abusing policy and lying about damages to get the item free. The then open a mediation case of which ebay could see me providing the evidence to the buyer that they are clearly abusing the program. We all know how this ended. Ebay sided in the buyers favor. My conclusion on this matter is that they targeted the "clone" area of the ad to get it free. This buyer clearly knew ebay policy and how to work the buyer protection system. Just thought this story would humor anyone on here that is having a bad with sales or customers.
