Default Quck tutorial. What eBay and PayPal can see about you?

I've been browsing around the forum recently, and decided to create a small list of tracking questions people are asking about every day. Not pretending to be a full and exhaustive list, but just a brief list of things that people tend to mess up while doing stealth. Just to remind, what eBay and PayPal can see about your system, and what they can't.
  1. Cookies. Both EB and PP can see only cookies that they've placed on your computer. They cant see Amazon, Facebook, MyCatSite.com or any other website cookies, as otherwise it would mean a HUGE security breach allowing to steal user cookies and act on their behalf afterwards.
  2. IP and MAC. EB and PP can only see your external IP, they can't see your internal LAN IP under normal circumstances. BUT they MAY see it though, if your browser has WebRTC enabled, you may check it here. I personally managed to get it working only in Chrome. The biggest problem is that it may expose your real address if you are using VPN services, so double-check that. And... they cant see your MAC, browsers are not allowed to check such low-level info.
  3. Fonts. EB and PP can see what fonts does your system have. As some users tend to install different and exotic fonts, it may be used as a huge fingerprint to track your system.
  4. Browser details. They see browser name, version, OS version, screen resolution and Time Zone.
  5. EXIF data from images. They read and analyze EXIF data from images you upload. About the full file path that shows in file details under Windows - they can't see it, Windows puts it there for information purposes, it is not a part of EXIF.
  6. Uploading images. They can't see the full path that appears in the file upload dialog, only the file name.
  7. Computer name and drive labels. They can't see it.
A very handy WebSite that will check, if your browser is unique or not.

Hope this will help someone :-)

To get an idea how unique your browser fingerprints are, as well as what specifics can be tracked by eBay via your browser, you can run this test:

Figure i'd be safe and take two seconds to ask this

1) If I add a verified user to my credit card account, so it has a different card number AND name on it, are they somehow able to link or see any info on the primary account?

2) If I open a second checking / saving account at my bank, and give them the routing / account number, are they able to pull any information off of it? or link it to another account with a different account number? wasn't sure if maybe the routing number was specific to me or anything

3)if you use the automatically verify account feature paypal offers instead of doing the deposits and you sign in with your bank of america account, does anyone know what information this gives paypal / ebay?

thanks for the advice

Thanks for your information, Im not clear about the images when it comes to upload, Today i had a problem with a hold banned product, And what i did is that i edit the image just ad a water mark on the image banned and i got to open again a shop.

Looks like they have like a scanner that may compare images with banned accounts.

Do you think this is possible?

Thank you
