why dont I get missed calls when abroad?

In the UK, my mobile phone only gets personal calls from a few close friends and family members, and it gets about one sales call a day, which if I pick up, I usually insult, accident claim etc....otherwise I do not give out my number, so not bombarded...

most stuff social stuff is on snapchat/facebook anyway.......

My phone always picks up the partner network eg. Spanish one. I do not buy any roaming bundles from the provider, I do not need to, as I do not make calls, and if it was an emergency I would just make the call regardless of cost on the partner network - do I need to a bundle to get calls????

anyway, when I am abroad, the phone is usually switched off, as I am probably swimming or frolicking with the natives...I am not obsessed like some people are, but I do want to get important messages eg. if there is an issue with the house security or someone close is unwell...

when I turn on a couple of times a day, there are no missed calls? why? doesnt it record missed calls if abroad, only takes live ones when phone is switched on?

I get texts, but no missed calls

Oompa, probably it will not help since I am in a different country with different phone contracts but, be notified for "missed calls", it is a service that needs to be activated depending on the phone company.

Maybe you have no roaming provider chosen? Costly to answer but ...easy to let it go to vm

Use your phone abroad

With vodafone I had to enable roaming. Have to pay for that too.... Not going to bother again.

oh so they have to dial country code? I thought if someone calls your UK number it came through to you, but you have to pay for the call....

They usually don't have to since the number is considered in UK even though you are abroad...

Depends on their service, I think.

Like EE to EE should connect.

It's probably because roaming isn't on..

I know when I travel with my phone I have to have it enabled otherwise my calls won't come through.

I use Ting.com and I forgot to let them know about that before my trip to Bangkok for a month and because of that none of my calls came through.

Next time I'll use something a little more universal.. maybe Skype or phone.com
